Fonts Within Thriller

What fonts are used in films? We constantly notice exceptional, humorous, and romantic typefaces on movie posters or announcements and wonder which fonts were used in them. Quite often, the film companies themselves produce these letterforms, and use them solely for their own distribution purposes.
However, there are numerous fonts in the vast Linotype Library that appear similar to some of these designs, and which can convey the same mood as the film.

The design should be tweaked in some way to reflect the theme.

For example, a religion-based horror movie, about demons or possession, might shift the cross-bar in a letter "T" so it is an upside-down cross, or use a letter "A" or "O" in a pentagram.

A medical themed horror movie might use a hypodermic needle for a letter "T" or "I", or a pill for an "I". Or have a scalpel in the process of slicing the letters in half.

A zombie flic might have clean, simple, elegant letters at the beginning, and have them bit by bit rot and decay until the last letter are barely recognizable.

Another interesting use of Font comes from AMC's: The Walking Dead. Just as seen on the show, each season the walkers (zombies) decay more and more, and to reflect this the shows producers tweak the font of the intro title, decaying more and more as each season goes on.

As you can the difference at first its miniscule, however it does become much more noticable as the seasons go on. This is a unique way of using font to play a role within the theme, providing viewers with a fun easter egg, as it hints at the future of the series
